Cal Poly’s MPS Industry Advisory Council is considering a plan to offer summer employment opportunities to incoming MPS students.
Employment would likely run from June through August and would take place at one of several large-scale dairy processing facilities in the area. Incoming students would then come to Cal Poly in mid-September to begin classes.
Working in a large-scale dairy processing facility before beginning the MPS program would provide students with real-world experience and context that would focus and enhance on-campus learning.
Several members of the MPS Industry Advisory Council expressed interest in participating in the program. The council represents a dozen leading dairy product manufacturers in California and around the country.
